I consider myself a language-o-phile, even a wordsmith. It's for those reasons, more than because of my political and spiritual beliefs, that I object so strongly to Donald Trump's behavior. As one of my favorite science fiction characters, K't'lk, said, words are the tools with which we build all other tools.
Mr. Trump continues to engage in personal and political CYA, using tactics like calling Speaker Pelosi crazy, and accusing members of the media, and of the Justice Department, of treason. (Apparently, being a very stable genius, he knows more about that than did the framers of the Constitution.)
Such steps may make Trump's Inner Petulant Child feel better, and may rally any of his base who waver. But such actions also provide the misguided and hateful among us more, and more dramatic, "evidence" in support of fear of change and of the Other.
Donald Trump is like the foolish man described in the Bible he purports to revere.
