I consider myself a language-o-phile, even a wordsmith. It's for those reasons, more than because of my political and spiritual beliefs, that I object so strongly to Donald Trump's behavior. As one of my favorite science fiction characters, K't'lk, said, words are the tools with which we build all other tools.
Mr. Trump continues to engage in personal and political CYA, using tactics like calling Speaker Pelosi crazy, and accusing members of the media, and of the Justice Department, of treason. (Apparently, being a very stable genius, he knows more about that than did the framers of the Constitution.)
Such steps may make Trump's Inner Petulant Child feel better, and may rally any of his base who waver. But such actions also provide the misguided and hateful among us more, and more dramatic, "evidence" in support of fear of change and of the Other.
Donald Trump is like the foolish man described in the Bible he purports to revere.

Don't Mess With Speaker Pelosi
I'm lucky to have known several strong, effective women. My mom; Aunt Martha; Aunt Katy; former students.
Much as I love and respect them all, none are in the same league as Speaker of the House (and second in line to succeed the President) Nancy Pelosi.
Pelosi has been orchestrating the implosion of the Trump imperium in masterful fashion. My guesstimate? An impeachment inquiry will begin in one to two months.

Executive Privilege Amuck
The Trump Administration is stone-walling more than requests from various Congressional committees. Reports yesterday suggest that even innocent, innocuous requests to the White House for information that could prove important to public health and safety have been refused.
Want to know how much you should be concerned about mercury in your food? Don't ask the EPA. Want to know how Donald Trump really felt about deaths in Puerto Rico attributed to Hurricane Maria? You won't get that info from the current administration either.
The man scares the you-know-what out of me ...

Who's Got It Right - Alexandria or Nancy?
Two of the best-known and most influential women in national Democratic politics take distinct views of the impeachment process. With which of them - Ocasio-Cortez or Pelosi - do you agree?

Order in the Courtroom ...
Probably more like terror in the White House - here comes a Federal Judge out-and-out shooting down not only Mr. Trump's refusal to provide requested documentation, but also the Administration's claim that Congress has no right to investigate the President. Any President. About anything. Absolutely no right whatsoever.
